Join the Wound Healing Center as a Wound Care RN!
Location: Wound Healing Center - Bluffton Medical Plaza, 75 Baylor Drive, Suite 190, Bluffton SC 29910
Status: PRN
Hours: 8:30am-5pm 1-2 days a week. No weekends, call, or major holidays!
Wound and Ostomy RN and hyperbaric experience preferred.
Wounds we regularly treat include:
- Venous leg ulcers
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Arterial ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Non-healing surgical wounds
- Non-healing traumatic wounds
- Burns
Wound care services and wound treatments we offer include:
- Diabetic foot care
- Compression therapy
- Negative pressure wound therapy
- Bioengineered skin substitutes
- Bedside wound debridement
- Advanced wound care products
- Limb preservation services
- Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience, required.
- Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in appropriate state, required. Wound Certification, preferred.
- Additional Skills (required): Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to provide care with minimal supervision.
- Additional Skills (preferred): Wound certification. Expertise with advanced wound care products and techniques.
- Wound Assessment & Treatment: Conducting comprehensive assessments of wounds (measuring size, tracking healing, assessing infection) and implementing treatment plans, including cleaning and complex dressing changes.
- Specialized Procedures: Performing debridement, applying specialized dressings, and managing negative pressure wound therapy.
- Patient & Caregiver Education: Teaching patients and families how to manage wounds at home, prevent future injuries, manage infection risk, and handle equipment.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Maintaining accurate electronic health records, updating care plans, and collaborating with physicians, vascular specialists, and other care team members.
- Diabetic Foot Care: Performing routine foot assessments and preventive care for patients with diabetes.
- Clinical Equipment Management: Safely operating, cleaning, and managing inventory for specialized wound care equipment and supplies.
