Samsara Internships 2027: Programs, Pay and How to Apply

Samsara's summer 2027 internship cycle is already live. ApplyBolt's board currently shows a Software Engineering Internship based in San Francisco paying $61.90 an hour, along with Account Development Representative intern roles in Phoenix and Atlanta. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with a stated deadline of November 26, 2026, so a posting can fill well before that date closes.

Samsara isn't a household name the way Google or Meta is, which works in your favor. Fewer students apply to a company they haven't heard of, even when the pay and the actual engineering work are competitive with much bigger names.

What Samsara actually does

Samsara builds an Internet of Things platform for companies that run physical operations: trucking fleets, construction equipment, warehouses, food and beverage production and similar work. Who's eligible for the software engineering internship

The posted role wants junior-year students on track to finish a bachelor's degree in computer science, math, software engineering, physics or data science between spring 2028 and winter 2029. Samsara also states that interns can't be enrolled in school full time while working there, which rules out a part-time or split-schedule arrangement. On the technical side, Samsara says it's looking for proficiency in at least one of backend, infrastructure, full stack, frontend or mobile infrastructure work, and lists comfort with Golang, Python, Node.js, TypeScript and React as a plus. You don't need every one of those, but showing depth in at least one area of that stack, through coursework or a personal project, is worth more than a shallow list of five languages.

Samsara's own descriptions of the program emphasize interns shipping real, customer-facing work rather than a shadow project set aside for the summer. Engineering interns land on teams building backend infrastructure for the IoT platform, full-stack features for internal and customer tools, or mobile work in React Native. The role is hybrid, with three days a week expected in the San Francisco office, so plan on being in the Bay Area for the summer even with relocation help covering part of the move.

Apply as soon as you find a posting that fits your background instead of waiting to polish your resume further, since rolling review means the November 26 deadline is a backstop, not a target date.
