2026-2027: Equine Science - Equine Program Assistant - work-study required

A hands-on program where students work directly with horses while learning about equine care, health, nutrition, reproduction, training, and management. Students gain practical experience across a variety of disciplines and prepare for careers in the equine industry, veterinary medicine, business, and related fields.

This is a work-study position where student must have work-study funds.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
● Develop marketing and promotional materials
● Manage social media content
● Plan and execute events
● Handle and care for horses
● Assist with equine research

 

Required Qualifications:
● Student enrollment as an undergraduate student is required for obtaining and continuing in an on-campus student employment position.
● Must be currently enrolled in 6 or more credits as a student at the University of Minnesota Crookston
● Must have work-study funding
● Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
● Must comfortable with horse handling
● Must have a valid driver's license
● Must be active social media experience and excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
● Enrolled in Equine Program
● Experience in event coordination
● Interest in undergraduate research
● Basic knowledge of photo and video editing.

Pay Range: $15.25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
