    JROTC Assistant Instructor
     
    Position Summary:
    Assists with providing students with learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enables students to develop competencies and skills to be productive members of society. Ensures opportunities for students to attain information, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for a smooth transition from grade to grade, school to school and ultimately school to life. 
     
    Essential Duties:
    • Assists with providing comprehensive educational instruction to students enrolled in the JROTC program. 
    • Assesses and documents student leadership skills and JROTC academic skills.      
    • Implements instructional lesson plans utilizing the JROTC four phase lesson plan.
    • Collaborates with general education staff, special education staff, guidance counselors, and school administrators.
    • Maintains documentation of student progress.
    • Follows appropriate instructional techniques based on individual student needs.
    • Complies with the requirements outlined in the annual JROTC Curriculum Implementation Plan tors, as needed, to maximize program effectiveness.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • To ensure continuity of services, alternative work site may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for alternative work site will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for alternative work site will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):
    • Bachelor’s Degree;
    • Highly Qualified in Assigned area(s); 
    • Knowledge of Content Area; 
    • General Curriculum and Instruction Knowledge; 
    • Physical Ability to Perform the Tasks of the Assignment; 
    • Willingness to Execute the Written Employment Contract;

    Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
    • Master Degree
     
    Physical/Mental Requirements:   
    • Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer. 
    • Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
    • Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 50 pounds. 
    • Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
    • May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
     
     Work Environment:  
    • Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate-controlled environment.
