AbbVie is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and delivering innovative medicines. They are seeking an Accounting & Finance Intern to participate in a summer program where interns will work on impactful assignments across various finance functions and develop essential skills for future finance leadership opportunities.
What you'll do:
- Participate in a paid, 11-week summer program, working on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide
- Combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving
- Work within one of the many accounting and finance sub-function areas, including Financial Analysis, Budgets, Plans and Forecasts, Reporting & Controls, and Manufacturing Operations Accounting
- Acquire valuable skills and be provided with professional development and networking opportunities that will leave a lasting impact
- Participate in AbbVie’s Week of Possibilities and health and wellness program, AbbVie Vitality
- Be considered as candidates for the Accounting and Finance Development Program (AFDP) after the internship
What they're looking for:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance and/or accounting, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 – August 2028
- Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with AbbVie
- Progress towards successfully completing at least three accounting courses (each with 3 credit hours) by the time of graduation, with one of the courses being focused on cost or managerial accounting
- Demonstrated utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in academic and/or professional settings
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or student organization setting
- Must submit unofficial or official transcript at time of application
- Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
- Dual major or minor in a related field is a plus
- Exposure in utilizing systems and tools to visualize and present data in a meaningful way
- Exposure to data analysis and ability to perform robust analytics and predictive modeling
- Completion of an accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course
- Ability to use analytical skills to innovatively solve problems
