2027 Accounting & Finance Development Program Intern (Undergraduate)

AbbVie is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and delivering innovative medicines. They are seeking an Accounting & Finance Intern to participate in a summer program where interns will work on impactful assignments across various finance functions and develop essential skills for future finance leadership opportunities.

What you'll do:

• Participate in a paid, 11-week summer program, working on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide
• Combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving
• Work within one of the many accounting and finance sub-function areas, including Financial Analysis, Budgets, Plans and Forecasts, Reporting & Controls, and Manufacturing Operations Accounting
• Acquire valuable skills and be provided with professional development and networking opportunities that will leave a lasting impact
• Participate in AbbVie’s Week of Possibilities and health and wellness program, AbbVie Vitality
• Be considered as candidates for the Accounting and Finance Development Program (AFDP) after the internship

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance and/or accounting, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 – August 2028
• Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with AbbVie
• Progress towards successfully completing at least three accounting courses (each with 3 credit hours) by the time of graduation, with one of the courses being focused on cost or managerial accounting
• Demonstrated utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in academic and/or professional settings
• Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or student organization setting
• Must submit unofficial or official transcript at time of application
• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
• Dual major or minor in a related field is a plus
• Exposure in utilizing systems and tools to visualize and present data in a meaningful way
• Exposure to data analysis and ability to perform robust analytics and predictive modeling
• Completion of an accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course
• Ability to use analytical skills to innovatively solve problems
