2027 Associate Electrical Engineer / Electrical Engineer

Northrop Grumman is a leader in aerospace technology and is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer/Electrical Engineer in Melbourne, FL. The role involves developing electrical designs for aircraft subsystems and supporting various engineering tasks related to electrical power systems.

What you'll do:

• Develop electrical wiring designs of a functional system including the selection of aircraft-type conductors and electro-mechanical components such as connectors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, terminal junction systems, etc. in accordance with SAE AS 50881 and proven commercial practices
• Support design requirements for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution systems, and circuit protective requirements for aerospace vehicle systems including Electrical Loads Analysis, test procedures, power architecture, reports, analyses, and other vehicle power related deliverables. Familiarization with MIL-STD-704 required
• Responsible for all aspects of system/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting
• May participate on a subcontractor management team and will act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement
• System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting
• System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met

What they're looking for:

• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by August 2027
• Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start
• Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution by August 2027 or is completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of electrical engineering experience by August 2026
• Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start
• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
• Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
