About this role
Barnes & Thornburg LLP is a law firm offering an internship designed to introduce students to the day-to-day operations of a law firm. The Information Security Intern will support department projects and initiatives related to Information Security and Cyber Security while developing professional and business skills.
What you'll do:
- Support assigned department to deliver meaningful work that advances business initiatives related to the implementation of Information Security initiatives for the firm
- Collaborate with work team members on focused projects, data input, data analysis, process documentation, and recordkeeping
- Participate in internal and external meetings to develop an aptitude for their field of study and business acumen
- Observe confidentiality in all client and Firm matters
- Collaborate with other departments and summer interns, where applicable
- Other duties as assigned
What they're looking for:
- Entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in the Fall of 2027
- Be available to participate for 10 consecutive weeks
- Enrolled in a 2-4 year undergraduate degree program at time of internship
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program to receive college course credits
- Pursuing a degree in fields of study that aligns with the following departments: Human Resources, Accounting, Marketing, Information Technology, and Legal Operations
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing work functions
- Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by email, phone, and virtually
- Ability to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff
- Provide timely and accurate information with ordinary courtesy and tact
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including personal computer, copiers, phones, and scanning equipment
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
