2027 College Program: Associate Software Engineer

Xtillion is a fast-growing AI solutions firm that helps organizations build, operationalize, and scale high-value AI systems. The Associate Software Engineer will participate in a structured training program and collaborate on client-facing and internal projects involving software applications, data workflows, and applied AI. The role includes contributing across the software development lifecycle, writing and testing code, troubleshooting issues, and documenting systems and processes.

What you'll do:

• Kick-start your career through Xtillion’s Software Engineering Academy, focused on software engineering fundamentals, data systems, and applied AI
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business problems and technical requirements
• Contribute to the design and implementation of software applications and data workflows
• Engage across the software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing and deployment
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established engineering standards and best practices
• Test, debug, and help improve the reliability and performance of applications and services
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues in collaboration
• Document system designs, code, and processes to support maintainability and knowledge sharing
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and industry developments to continuously improve skills and knowledge

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation in **December 2026** or **May/June 2027**
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++)
• Strong understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms
• Familiarity with SQL, databases, or data-intensive systems
• Experience working with Git or other version control systems
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
• A proactive, positive attitude with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments
• Prior internship, research, or hands-on project experience in software engineering
• Exposure to backend development frameworks or API development through coursework or projects
