About this role
Mercury Systems is a technology company that develops processing solutions for aerospace and defense missions. The Electrical Engineering Intern will support the full hardware development lifecycle, including design, schematic updates, board bring-up, testing, documentation, and bill of materials management.
What you'll do:
- Work with experienced electrical engineers to support hardware design, development, integration, and testing
- Assist senior engineers in creating or updating schematics
- Support the generation or revision of test procedures
- Support board bring-up activities, including drafting test plans and documenting test results
- Perform board bring-up activities
- Generate test reports
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
What they're looking for:
- Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline
- A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required
- A basic understanding of high-speed digital and analog circuitry, power management, and electromagnetic interference
- General knowledge of both conventional manufacturing techniques and advanced manufacturing
- This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations. You may only access such information if you are a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. government.”
- Experience or knowledge of electronic schematic software tools, such as Allegro design entry HDL or Mentor Graphics DXDesigner
- General knowledge or experience in the use of digital test equipment such as digital meters, spectrum analyzer or oscilloscopes, power supplies, and soldering rework equipment to execute lab design verification test (DVT) and debug
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
- Proficiency with standard documentation and presentation tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment
