Federated Hermes' Summer Internship Program gives students real hands-on experience, professional skill-building, and direct access to talented leaders across the firm. You'll gain valuable insight into the asset management industry, build your network, and take part in engaging events throughout the summer designed to foster collaboration, connect you with the firm and your fellow interns.
 

Purpose of the Internship:

As a GIO School Year Intern, you will provide day to day, timely delivery of high-quality investment and portfolio data to investment professionals, clients and vendors. You will collect, analyze, calculate and report information that is critical to the firm’s operations. Through this internship, you will be provided with an opportunity to gain experience in two of the following: Enterprise Data Operations, Portfolio Operations, Global Trade Services, Middle Office Integration, Market Data and Trading Operations.

Major Duties:

• Monitor investment and portfolio data maintained in Federated Hermes’ data warehouse(s)
• Reconcile daily security pricing, portfolio market values and cash flows
• Provide daily investment management cash availability
• Assist in the production and revision of derivatives contracts with counterparties
• Track trades through the settlement process
• Monitor derivatives transactions including collateral management
• Assist with the account lifecycle activities of our funds/accounts

Hours/Location: 

• Full-time summer schedule working 37.5 hours/week and part-time school year schedule working 15-20 hours/week. Work hours will be flexible based on student’s schedule.
• Federated Hermes Tower – Pittsburgh, PA 15222 and/or Warrendale Office - 4000 Ericsson Drive Warrendale, PA 15066
• Summer - Hybrid work arrangement (4 days in office / 1 day remote) and School Year (Remote)

Explanatory Comments:

• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Position Specifications:

• Pursuing a degree with a concentration in business or related major preferred
• Proficiency with Word and Excel required; PowerPoint preferred
• Interest in the investment industry
