2027 Graduate - Engineer/Analyst - Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, & Targeting Scientific Applications

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory develops technologies for critical defense, security, space, and science challenges. The Engineer/Analyst will develop, analyze, test, and deploy scientific applications and capabilities for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting (ISRT), using methods including sensor and data fusion, signal and image processing, mathematical modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

What you'll do:

• Contribute to teams developing algorithms, mathematical-physical models, software prototypes, and deployable software applications for ISRT applications
• Develop new signal processing, image processing, multi-sensor data fusion, and multi-sensor resource optimization techniques
• Develop new modeling, simulation, and analytical methods and tools
• Develop and analyze new ISRT concepts and architectures
• Plan, execute and conduct data analysis for field tests and experiments
• Collaborate with teams to develop user interfaces, visualizations, and network/web services
• Present your results to project leads, sponsors, and technical workshops and conferences

What they're looking for:

• Have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or other related field
• Have skills and experience developing scientific and engineering applications in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, and Java and in Linux environments
• Have strong interpersonal and written communications skills
• Have the ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Have the ability to multi-task, support multiple, concurrent projects, and adapt to changing circumstances
• Are willing and able to work a portion of the time in secure, closed areas and travel occasionally to government sites and contractor facilities (local and non-local)
• Are able to ultimately obtain a Top Secret SCI level clearance
• Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship
• Have at least one year of work experience, or significant internship experience, in a relevant technical field
• Have skills and experience implementing complex mathematical techniques (such as neural networks and other machine learning approaches) in software applications
• Have skills and experience developing software from conceptualization to fully functional applications
• Have skills and experience with signal and image processing, data fusion, statistical analysis, mathematical optimization, pattern recognition, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques
