2027 Intern, Accounting

Eversource Energy is seeking students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting for a summer internship in its Accounting organization. The intern will assist with regulatory filings, financial statement analysis, monthly accounting close activities, cost loading rates, and accounting research.

What you'll do:

• Assist in preparation of SEC, Federal Regulatory Commission and state regulatory filings
• Assist with the review and analysis of month end financial statements and reports
• Participate in the monthly accounting closing cycle including preparation of journal entries and analysis and reconciliation of accounts
• Develop corporate cost loading rates
• Assist in the research of accounting issues as identified
• Working with the Company’s integrated mainframe accounting and budgeting system
• Working with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word

• Candidates should possess excellent communication, judgment, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of accounting theory is required
• Individuals should be proficient in the use of MS Office applications, and have a strong interest and desire to learn and apply computer applications
• Candidate should be in the process of pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting; preference will be given to students who have finished their junior year
