2027 Intern - Firmware Engineer (Weapons) - Hunt Valley, MD

Textron Systems serves defense and commercial customers through specialized products and services across air, land, sea, propulsion, weapon systems, electronic systems, and test, training, and simulation. The Firmware Engineer Intern will collaborate with engineers to develop and debug firmware, maintain technical documentation, work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, and participate in design and code reviews.

What you'll do:

• Collaborating with engineers to write, and debug firmware code to ensure functionality and performance
• Preparing and maintaining documentation detailing firmware design, functionality, and test procedures
• Working with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, to identify and resolve issues
• Participating in design and code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback to improve firmware quality
• Firmware development: Gain hands-on experience in writing and debugging firmware
• Test environment: Learn how to develop and operate firmware test environments
• Collaboration: Enhance teamwork skills by working with cross-functional teams

What they're looking for:

• Current enrollment in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering programs
• Working knowledge of one or more of the following: SystemVerilog, VHDL, Python, C, Digital Systems, and Electrical Circuits
• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Ability to work 40 hours/week
• Capable of working well with a cross functional team
• Ability to complete tasks on time while taking in inputs from other engineers
• This position requires an individual to be a U.S citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
