2027 IT / Cybersecurity Engineer Intern - Chicago, IL

Wealthspire is hiring an IT/Cybersecurity Engineer Intern to support the Cybersecurity team in protecting the firm’s systems, data, and technology infrastructure. The intern will gain hands-on experience with security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, security assessments, and cybersecurity initiatives across the firm.

What you'll do:

• Support the Cybersecurity team with monitoring systems and reviewing security alerts
• Assist with identifying, documenting, and escalating potential security threats or vulnerabilities
• Participate in incident response activities and help maintain accurate incident documentation
• Support security assessments, testing, and remediation tracking
• Assist with maintaining cybersecurity policies, procedures, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with Technology, Risk, and business teams on cybersecurity initiatives
• Conduct research on emerging threats, security trends, and industry best practices
• Help promote cybersecurity awareness and support compliance with regulatory requirements
• Complete additional cybersecurity projects and assignments throughout the internship
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodations available to support the performance of essential job functions
