2027 Manufacturing Test Engineer Intern

Mercury Systems is a technology company that develops processing solutions for aerospace and defense missions. The Manufacturing Test Engineer Intern will support automated test development, troubleshooting, process improvement, test fixture qualification, data analysis, documentation, and new product introduction activities for high-speed Processing Modules.

What you'll do:

• Support the development, debug, and validation of automated test procedures for high-speed Processing Modules on the production floor
• Assist in troubleshooting test failures and collaborate with engineering to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Contribute to manufacturing process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing test yield, throughput, and efficiency
• Help design, build, and qualify test fixtures and equipment used in production test stations
• Analyze test data to identify trends, recurring failures, and opportunities for process optimization
• Create and maintain test documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Engineering teams to resolve production issues in real time
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by helping transition test processes from engineering to production
• Perform calibration checks and routine maintenance/inventory of manufacturing test equipment
• Provide general engineering support to test engineers and production technicians as needed

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical discipline
• A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
• Familiarity with a modern scripting language, such as Python, for test automation
• Basic understanding of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers)
• Exposure to digital and analog circuit fundamentals
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and tools
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as GIT/BitBucket for version control
• Familiarity with AI tools to support engineering productivity and problem solving
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment

• Prior manufacturing engineering internship or co-op experience
