About this role

Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas providing investment banking and capital markets services. The 2027 Investment Banking Analyst will support the Mergers & Acquisitions team by performing financial analysis, building valuation models, researching companies and industries, supporting transaction execution, and preparing client materials.

What you'll do:

  • Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A transactions
  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis
  • Create and maintain detailed financial models as well as perform valuation work and other relevant analyses
  • Collect, consolidate and interpret company and industry data
  • Financial and written analysis of companies and industries
  • Support transaction execution including coordinating the due diligence process and liaising with relevant counterparts at the client / other advisors; and
  • Prepare client presentations, including compiling data and assembling presentation materials, drafting confidential offering memoranda, management and board presentations and other materials for senior bankers as required

What they're looking for:

  • Have an undergraduate or graduate Degree in Business, Finance, Science, Technology, Engineering, Economics or Mathematics discipline or related fields to be completed between December 2026 and July 2027
  • You have a demonstrated interest and knowledge of the financial markets
  • You have a proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • You work seamlessly within MS Office Suite with expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
  • You have strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory
  • You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills
