2027 Select Sires, Inc. Internship - Data Analytics

Select Sires Inc. is an agricultural genetics and services company supporting the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of dairy and beef producers. The Data Analytics Intern will contribute to a business-driven data project by engaging stakeholders, analyzing data, developing reports or models, and presenting insights and recommendations to IT and business leadership.

What you'll do:

• Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values
• Contribute to a business-driven data project that applies core analyst responsibilities
• Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, project scope, and desired outcomes
• Explore data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
• Develop reports, visualizations, or models that translate data into meaningful business insights
• Share findings and recommendations with IT and business leadership through a final presentation

• Strong curiosity and eagerness to learn how data supports decision-making across the business
• Willingness to explore new tools, methods, and problem-solving approaches
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business teams, including remote colleagues
• Strong communication skills with an interest in translating data into meaningful insights
• Undergraduate or graduate student in Dairy Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Evidence of work authorization upon employment is required in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
• Exposure to or interest in Databricks, SQL, Python, or BI tools such as Power BI
• Familiarity with agricultural data or a strong interest in learning how data impacts the dairy and beef industries
• Enthusiasm for connecting technical skills with real-world business challenges
• Desire to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to data projects
• Strong background or interest in the dairy or beef industry is strongly preferred
