About this role
Schonfeld is a global multi-manager hedge fund that uses proprietary technology, infrastructure, and risk analytics across multiple investment strategies. The Software Engineering Intern will work with experienced developers on projects that improve the functionality, performance, stability, efficiency, and scalability of research and trading platforms, potentially within Treasury Technology or Compliance Technology.
What you'll do:
- You’ll work alongside senior developers writing software that will improve the functionality, performance, stability, efficiency and scalability of the research and trading platform
- You will be assigned both a manager and mentor, participate in organized team-building events, lunch and learns, social activities, and network with senior management throughout the summer
- You will be assigned summer-long projects that will be directly related to the work of the team you are assigned to, which you will present on at the completion of the program
What they're looking for:
- A student pursuing a degree in a technical or quantitative field
- Someone who has demonstrated software engineering skills from previous internships, coding competitions, or publications
- Interest and experience in a programming language; various languages will be considered such as C++, Java, Python etc
- Some basic knowledge of Git, and databases
- High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities
- Interest in Capital Markets or Finance
- Strong interest in taking ownership of his/her work
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Previous financial industry experience although it is not required
- An advanced degree in a quantitative or technical field
