About this role
Spectrum is a telecommunications and connectivity company serving customers and communities nationwide. The Data Science Intern will support accessibility-focused initiatives by analyzing data, developing datasets and dashboards, and generating actionable insights for decision-making and customer impact. The intern will also participate in professional development, networking, mentorship, and cross-functional internship activities.
What you'll do:
- We create clarity and awareness around Spectrum’s commitment to accessibility products and services by cultivating strategic partnerships, creating meaningful customer experiences and empowering teams through learning, marketing, customer insights and safeguarding collective interests by ensuring compliance. A data-focused intern would directly support this mission by turning accessibility-related data into actionable insights that improve awareness, decision-making, and customer impact across the organization
- By the end of Summer 2027, the intern could produce: A mapped view of disability-related ACS estimates across the combined footprint. A cleaned and documented dataset linking geography, footprint, and accessibility metrics. A dashboard summarizing assistive technology feature usage trends. A comparative analysis of external disability estimates vs. internal feature usage. A final presentation with findings, opportunities, limitations, and recommended next steps. Documentation to allow the work to be expanded after the internship
What they're looking for:
- You're a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university: + Data Science
- This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor's degree
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
- Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
- Strong Excel and SQL skills
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or GIS/mapping tools
- Ability to work with census/ACS data
- Interest in accessibility, inclusion, customer insights, or product analytics
