2027 Summer Intern - Electrical Engineering

Ghafari Associates is a global architecture, engineering, and consulting firm that delivers solutions for industrial, federal, and commercial projects. The company is seeking a summer Electrical Engineering Intern to work in-office in Chicago from May through August 2027, creating engineering documents, digital models, and databases using CAD and Revit while supporting project engineers and coordinating design documents.

What you'll do:

• Create engineering documents using computer aided design (CAD) technology utilizing AutoCAD and/or Revit software
• Work closely with engineers during design phase of a project to understand scope of the project information to determine design data needs and guidelines for the project
• Provide limited design on documents and detail design documents with input from engineers
• Make corrections and produce final documents for engineers review. Check for integration of sections and coordination of disciplines. Work with engineers to resolve document coordination and production problems
• Reproduce documents upon request
• May produce drawings and digital design models in 3D software applications
• Deploy team oriented problem solving
• Perform related duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master's degree in an engineering discipline at an accredited university. Students should have completed at least (2) years of classes
• Working proficiency in design software applications (Revit, AutoCAD)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Capable of taking initiative; able to take direction
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus
