2027 Summer Intern, MS/PhD, Software Engineer

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company developing the Waymo Driver for fully autonomous mobility. The Software Engineer Intern will develop simulator functionality for safety evaluation and build metrics and evaluation infrastructure for simulated data.

What you'll do:

• Develop core simulator functionality used for evaluating internal models for safety evaluation
• Design and implement metrics and evaluation infrastructure for simulated data

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Python, SQL
• Experience in model evaluation and developing metrics
• Experience developing models
• Previous Internship Experience
• Experience writing backend software for robotics
