About this role
Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company developing the Waymo Driver for fully autonomous mobility. The Software Engineering intern will design infrastructure and tooling to diagnose software non-determinism across autonomous driving systems and investigate non-deterministic execution patterns in Waymo codebases.
What you'll do:
- Design and build infrastructure and tooling to diagnose software non-determinism across autonomous driving systems
- Investigate and resolve non-deterministic execution patterns across Waymo codebases
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in software engineering or a related technical field
- Strong programming skills in C++
- Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and systems debugging
- Experience with statistical data analysis, anomaly detection, or tracing tools
- Understanding of common sources of software non-determinism (e.g., concurrency/race conditions, floating-point determinism, etc.)
- Experience with graph execution frameworks
