2027 Summer Intern, PhD, Quantitative Software Engineer

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company focused on building fully autonomous driving systems. The Quantitative Software Engineering Intern will conduct exploratory research, evaluate statistical theories, present findings, and design and implement software.

What you'll do:

• Exploratory research and statistical evaluation of new theories
• Periodically presenting the above to small focus groups
• Software engineering design and implementation

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Fluency in programming in Python
• Knowledge and comfort with statistical concepts
• Basic knowledge of machine learning
• Software engineering experience in Python
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
