About this role
Plante Moran is an audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management firm. The Real Estate Valuation Intern will assist with real estate appraisals, valuation analytics, market research, financial modeling, and client advisory engagements across diverse property types and industries.
What you'll do:
- Preparing real estate appraisals on a variety of property types, including but not limited to residential, multifamily, industrial, retail, hotel, skilled nursing facilities, and land, among others
- Assisting with appraisals of large complex transactions
- Researching market and property data from a variety of databases
- Problem-solving to assist in client consultation and valuation
- Reviewing valuations for audit and tax clients
- Interviewing clients, including face-to-face meetings, and attending site inspections to gather data and information pertinent to the assignment
- Researching industry value drivers, including market, competitor and property information
- Financial modeling, including discounted cash flows
- Developing all facets of the appraisals, including the cost, sales comparison and income capitalization approaches to value
- Assisting in developing valuation reports from start to finish and communicating conclusions to clients

- Excellent skill sets in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's degree in real estate, finance or economics, or related field
- Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)
- This position may require some local, national, and occasional international travel
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, with the exception of qualified candidates who are bilingual in either Japanese and English or Chinese and English
