About this role
Chatham University is seeking a work-study student to support the People Operations team. The role assists with recruitment, onboarding, compensation, compliance, credentialing, training administration, reporting, and special HR projects while maintaining confidentiality.
What you'll do:
- Assist with recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, maintaining applicant tracking records, and supporting hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, including preparing onboarding materials, tracking completion of required documentation, and ensuring a positive new hire experience
- Provide administrative and research support for compensation-related project, including data collection, benchmarking activities, and maintaining compensation records
- Support auditing and licensing processes by reviewing documentation, tracking requirements, organizing records, and assisting with compliance reporting
- Assist with credentialing and training program administration by maintaining employee certifications, monitoring renewal dates, and supporting training record management
- Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and databases related to People Operations initiatives
- Participate in special HR projects and process improvement efforts as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and organizational information and adhere to all applicable privacy standards

- Interest in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Experience with data entry, reporting, or project coordination is a plus
- Previous administrative, customer service, or office experience preferred but not required
