Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Status: Part Time 7.5 hr

Position Summary

Summary:
Assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Education Required

• Must complete in-house orientation program

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.



Experience And Skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Speaks, reads and writes English

• At least 6 months in a private physician practice setting preferred.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Bilingual English/Spanish – translation duties may be required.

• Computer experience and other related office machinery



License/Certifications

• MA cert or EKG.

• BLS certification preferred

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn

• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time often switching from one to another without loss of efficiency or composure.

• Knowledge of medical practice and care to provide quality patient care, including examination, diagnostic, treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments.

• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

• Skills in assistance in a variety of treatments and medications as directed.

• Skills in taking vital signs, patient histories, EKG’s, venipuncture, glucose testing, finger sticks and other clinical skills that are consistent with those of a medical assistant.

• Skills in maintaining quality assurance.

• Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers.

• Ability to maintain quality control standards.

• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

• Ability to communicate clearly.

• Frequent prolonged standing, walking, lifting, positions pushes and/or transfer patients.
