About this role
Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families is a nonprofit organization focused on research, communications, and advocacy to improve outcomes for children and families in Arkansas. The Marketing and Events Intern will support Soup Sunday events through digital content creation, social media, public relations, community outreach, and event logistics.
What you'll do:
- Content Creation & Communications – both events + Create Canva graphics, reels, and other engaging digital content. + Translate large reports into short, easy-to-digest posts for social media. + Develop content campaigns around Soup Sunday to raise awareness and drive participation. + Work alongside local influencers on event promotion and content strategy. + Support social media reporting by gathering quantitative data (reach, impressions, clicks) and qualitative insights (comments, themes)
- Marketing & Public Relations – NWA Soup Sunday + Support PR efforts, advertising, and community outreach to expand AACF’s visibility in Northwest Arkansas. + Assist with messaging and media pitches. + Strengthen relationships with community leaders, partners, and local businesses
- Event Support – NWA Soup Sunday + Attend and take notes at Soup Sunday Committee meetings (see required dates below). + Assist with setup, day-of logistics, and post-event wrap-up. + Contribute creative ideas that keep Soup Sunday top of mind in the community
What they're looking for:
- Commitment: Part-time, Fall 2026– March 2027 (with evening availability required for committee meetings)
- • Interest in marketing, PR, communications, or event planning
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills
- • Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools
- • Active on social media and aware of current trends
- • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple tasks
- • Available for evening committee meetings and Soup Sunday on January 31, 2027
- Must have valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for attending meetings and helping with events
- Requires 6-month commitment or through March 2027
- Hours: 6-10 hours/week, in office with occasional remote work as required
