About this role

The Department of Primary Care & Rural Medicine (PCRM) in the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine at Texas A&M University College of Medicine seeks to fill one (1) academic professional track (non-tenure) position for a full-time, 11-month appointment with an anticipated start date in the fall of 2027. Applications will be accepted at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, commensurate with qualifications.

The selected candidate will provide obstetric care in the Family Medicine Residency Program. 

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct patient care;
  • Teaching clinical practice of medicine to medical students, residents, and fellows;
  • Supervision of residents and fellows;
  • Night and weekend on-call duties;
  • Rotation with other faculty in the coverage of inpatient hospital services and development of the physician's clinical practice; and
  • Scholarly activity in the form of publication, the education process, research, etc. 

Together, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Health, and the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine are working to improve healthcare through transformative education, innovative research, and team-based care delivery.


Required:

  • MD, DO or equivalent degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP)
  • Current Texas medical license or eligible to obtain licensure in the state of Texas.

Preferred:

  • Obstetric care with C-Section privileges
  • Inpatient hospital medicine, inpatient/outpatient pediatrics and/or other advanced procedural skills.
