Accountant 1 (Local Government) - Delaware County C&Y

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Accountant 1 for the Delaware County Department of Human Services. This role involves professional accounting work focused on the classification, analysis, and reporting of financial data for various human services programs.

What you'll do:

• Help fiscal personnel prepare documents for external audits and perform internal program audits
• Participate in the development and monitoring of service contracts as well as the monitoring and auditing of contracted providers
• Assist with the reconciliation and monitoring of expenses, revenues, and accounts receivables, as well as the review of employee expenditure requests, vendor and provider invoices submitted for payment
• Help fiscal personnel prepare reports for submission to multiple funding sources and prepare the Schedule of Existing Federal Awards
• Ensure all work performed and reviewed complies with contractual agreements, county procedures, and regulatory requirements

What they're looking for:

• One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or
• One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
• Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting
• You must meet the PA residency requirement
• You must be able to perform essential job functions
• You must pass a background investigation
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law
• Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
