This position is integral to various grant support activities for the department, including processing grant awards, utilizing the state's financial system, and the grant database.     

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate.  If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck.  A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

  • Oversee daily process flow for divisional processing teams
  • Work with various DHSS divisions to ensure consistent and accurate purchasing and payment processing
  • Analyze payment requests utilizing federal, state, and departmental guidelines
  • Approve various payment documents utilizing the state financial system
  • Communicate effectively with and assist program team members
  • Work hand in hand with team members to ensure data integrity
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, Internet, and the state's financial system to complete duties
  • Serve as back-up to other team members to ensure forward movement for the division
  • Maintaining and updating grant files
  • Assist with projects for the bureau in relation to process improvement
  • Review tasks and recommend process improvements related to the position
  • Provide training and guidance to new team members as needed 

Qualifications - All you need for success

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).
  • Highly organized, proactive and possess strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exercise independence, judgment, and initiative in the performance of their duties.
