Accountant-Associate

• Assembles data from books of original entry and controlling records, and prepares financial statements and reports pertaining to institutional activities.
• Utilizes resources and systems to input, retrieve or display accounting information.
• Performs reconciliation of institutional general ledger records to subsidiary records and state reports.
• Documents and prepares monthly reconciliation of departmental budget for leadership review.
• Conducts special studies as assigned and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
• Prepares income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and other various accounting statements and reports.
• Analyzes financial reports and records, making studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
• Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
• Assists in the processing and reconciliation of specific reports and processing of payments.
• Coordinates with specific department in resolving personnel reporting issues and assists in the preparation of adjusting, closing entries and monthly/annual financial reports.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to be dependable and flexible in order to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in applicable software programs including Microsoft Office.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
