Accountant

BerryDunn is seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant on behalf of Wagner Forest Management, an investment management group providing natural resource investment and management services. The role supports financial reporting and day-to-day accounting activities, including preparing financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, analytical procedures, and maintaining reporting workpapers.

What you'll do:

• Preparing financial statements, journal entries and account reconciliations as well as performing day-to-day accounting duties in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliation
• Perform additional analytical procedures as needed
• Maintenance of workpapers to support financial reporting using Microsoft Access and Excel
• Communicate with bookkeepers and operations staff regarding accounting matters
• Coordinate with the Controller and CFO to support priorities as needed

What they're looking for:

• A degree with 1+ years experience in the areas of general ledger and financial reporting
• Working knowledge of the financial statement presentation and disclosure requirements, internal controls, and corporate and partnership accounting and tax issues
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
• Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with particular emphasis on Excel formulas and functions and Access databases
