Accountant

HRV Conformance Verification Associates, Inc. is seeking an Accountant to support the Controller and accounting team across core accounting functions. The role manages billing, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, month-end close support, contract tracking, reporting, and compliance while taking on increasing responsibility based on experience.

What you'll do:

• Balance time and expenses in the accounting system
• Process, audit, and correct weekly billing reports
• Establish contact and review invoicing requirements with new clients
• Prepare and send customer invoices in accordance with contract terms
• Review invoices for accuracy prior to delivery
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments
• Maintain documentation and records of billings and vendor payments
• Handle customer billing inquiries and support collection follow-up as needed
• Deposit customer payments and post them in the accounting system
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, ensuring accurate entries
• Assist in updating billing procedures and recommend improvements to the Controller
• Enter annual or contract-specific rate changes in a timely manner

What they're looking for:

• 0–7+ years of accounting experience (open to entry-level through senior-level candidates)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and ability to meet deadlines
• Professional communication skills and willingness to collaborate across departments
• Ability to take on increasing responsibility over time, depending on experience level
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with accounting software systems (Unanet preferred)
