Accountant

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of its manufacturing facility. The role manages accounts payable, payroll administration, reconciliations, financial close activities, audits, financial analysis, and Oracle system implementation support.

What you'll do:

• Process and maintain accounts payable, including invoice entering and review, coding, approval tracking, and vendor payments
• Communicate proactively with vendor contacts to ensure current status of Ruger payable accounts and strong vendor relationships
• Administer weekly or semi-monthly payroll for both salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accurate and timely compensation
• Reconcile payroll, benefits, and related general ledger accounts
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results
• Support external audits by maintaining and producing financial documents as needed to ensure a successful audit result
• Support ad hoc financial analyses to identify cost efficiency opportunities and support operations with relevant and timely reporting
• Assist with ongoing Oracle system implementation to ensure continuity of accounting processes and implement efficiency improvements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Base-level accounting or finance experience, with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word)
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to partner across functions
• High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and accountability
• Demonstrated experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) or a comparable ERP system is a plus
