Accountant

TEC is a communications company providing fiber broadband services. The Accountant supports the accounting management team and handles day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, reconciliations, regulatory filings, and year-end close activities.

What you'll do:

• Preparation of general ledgers in Microsoft Dynamics SL, includes accounts payable coding in Altec DocLink and some billing
• Preparation of financial statements in FYISoft
• Preparation of various monthly analysis and account reconciliations
• Provides information and support for the use in the preparation of tax returns
• May include preparation of tax and book depreciation
• Preparation of cash flow supporting schedules
• Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of various federal and state regulatory filings
• Assist in preparation of subsidiary and/or consolidated annual financial statements with footnotes
• Prepare monthly financial statements including ensuring that accounts payable cash receipts, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions are recorded properly
• Perform timely, accurate, month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition
• Ensure that all finance and accounting operations comply with GAAP and applicable federal and state laws and regulations

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or bachelor's degree in other related field with accounting experience
• A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years' experience in general ledger accounting
• Must be proficient in the use of Excel and other Microsoft applications
• Requires the ability to understand accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
• Requires skills of accuracy and precise attention to detail
• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills
