About this role
Tenet Healthcare is a leading healthcare network in Palm Beach County, seeking an Accountant II to manage various accounting tasks. The role involves performing general accounting activities, cash management functions, and assisting with month-end close processes.
What you'll do:
- Performs general accounting related activities, prepares journal entries, and reconciles balance sheet accounts
- Responsible for cash management functions, including both daily & monthly reconciliation, refund processing and tracking
- Responsible for month-end close process, including account variance analysis
- Assists with monthly close with respect to physician compensation payments and accruals
- Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations and posting of Journal entries per department checklist, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- Performs onboarding and off boarding tasks/assignments per department checklist
- Develops more advanced accounting skills and knowledge
What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field of study
- Requires 2-3 years experience in finance or accounting, experience with a multi-physician practices, is strongly preferred
- Must have current knowledge and experience in finance concepts, practices, and procedures
- Strong proficiency in computer based programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong proficiency in building Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, 'V' look-ups and knowledge of General Ledger Accounting
- Excellent project management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic work environment while remaining customer focused; willingness to take ownership and drive a project to completion
- Strong analytical skills. Ability to track, report and analyze data to ensure validity and consistency of programs and make data-based decisions and recommendations
- Ability to work well with other team members and consultants in remote offices as well as independently
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
- Experience with a multi-physician practices, is strongly preferred
- Healthcare background is strongly desirable
