Accountant - Investment Operations, North American Finance Group

Allied World is a company that values collaboration and knowledge, seeking talented professionals to join their team. The Accountant in Investment Operations will be responsible for maintaining investment records, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

What you'll do:

• Work with the parent company to maintain the PAM investment sub-ledger as it relates to Allied World investments by maintaining appropriate monitoring activities (including appropriate recording, reconciling and accounting therein)
• Responsible for cash-matching in the PAM system
• Assist with the preparation of period end group and local reporting for Allied World and its group companies
• Work closely with the US STAT team to assist in providing applicable investment balances, schedules and notes for all US Stat Companies
• Maintain and implement good internal control procedures and ensure a high standard of compliance
• Assist in the preparation of ad hoc reports and projects as required

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-2 years of experience working in the finance/accounting department in a corporate environment
• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office with highly developed Excel skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, commitment to meeting deadlines, and ability to working overtime as needed
• Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize
• Ability to work well independently as well as across teams
• Experience with investments (accounting, analysis, projects, etc.)
• Working knowledge PAM for Investments
• Knowledge of statutory filing software WINGS
• Working knowledge of an accounting package (e.g. SAP)
