About this role

California Correctional Health Care Services is seeking an Accountant Trainee to support the State Lands Commission. The role involves performing accounts payable functions and ensuring compliance with various state regulations.

What you'll do:

  • Perform accounts payable functions of average difficulty for the State Lands Commission
  • Proper coding, recording, and reconciliation of payment transactions in accordance with State Controller’s Office (SCO), Department of Finance (DOF), State Administrative Manual (SAM), Financial Information System of California (Fi$Cal), Department of General Services (DGS) and Commission rules and regulations

What they're looking for:

  • Applicants must provide employment history on their STD. 678 application form
  • Attaching a resume or cover letter does not take place of the employment history sections on the STD. 678
  • Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date in order to be considered
  • Applicants using education to meet the minimum qualifications of this classification must provide a copy of their official transcripts with their application package
  • Failure to provide official transcripts may result in removal from the exam list
  • Applicants providing copies of international official transcripts may need to provide an evaluation/translation from an educational credentials evaluation service
  • Responses to the Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) items 1-2 must be submitted with application package
  • The SQ serves as documentation of each applicant's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing
  • Completed SQ must be single-spaced, 12 pt. font, not exceed 2 pages, and responses MUST be numbered in the same order as the SQ items
