Accounting Associate (INTERNSHIP)

Mitsubishi Power Americas develops clean energy technologies and supports the global energy transition. The Accounting Associate Intern will join the Controllership team to assist with accounting, financial reporting, month-end and quarter-end close processes, reconciliations, analysis, policy documentation, and audit coordination.

What you'll do:

• Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
• Assist with preparation of month-end close journal entries (accruals, cash transfers, AP reclasses, and prepaids)
• Support monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting (AP, AR, and cash flows)
• Assist with preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly analytical reporting including commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances
• Document and maintain accounting policies and procedures
• Maintain active task lists and assist with coordination of audit requests

What they're looking for:

• Currently in Junior or Senior year enrolled in a four-year college or university and in pursuit of a bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting
• Communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels
• Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
