About this role
Life Care Centers of America operates Life Care Center of Rhea County and is seeking an Accounting Clerk (Accounts Receivable) to manage billing, payment collections, and related data in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards. The role prepares billing and bank deposits, records cash receipts, provides customer service, and supports administrative and interdisciplinary team functions.
What you'll do:
- Prepare and submit all billing (i.e., Medicare A & B, private insurance) accurately and in a timely manner
- Record cash receipts accurately and timely
- Accurately prepare bank deposits
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Lift 20 lbs floor to waist, lift 20 lbs waist to shoulder, lift and carry 20 lbs, and push/pull 20 lbs
What they're looking for:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing administration functions in the post-acute care facility
- Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the administration department
- Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: cash receipts and billing, business office support, patient rights, and safety and sanitation
- Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's *Code of Conduct* and completes mandatory *Code of Conduct* and other appropriate compliance training
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
