Accounting & Finance Intern

Salvagnini is seeking a Finance & Accounting Intern for its accounting and finance operations. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting accounts payable and receivable, period-close activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, record maintenance, and administrative tasks.

What you'll do:

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice review and data entry
• Support the period-close process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement analysis, and other reports
• Prepare routine financial reports, spreadsheets, and summaries for management review
• Help prepare monthly bank reconciliations by comparing bank statements with internal financial records
• Maintain and organize tax and financial records, files, and documentation in compliance with internal policies
• Assist with maintaining fixed asset records including additions, retirements, and book depreciation schedules across multiple entities
• Perform other administrative and operational tasks to support the finance team

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas); experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• The ability to recognize and evaluate technical issues and limitations is required
• The ability to define and manage expectations is critical
