Accounting Intern

Catholic Financial Life is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support its Accounting team. The role provides hands-on experience with corporate accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, general ledger processes, and financial operations within the insurance industry.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Assist with the preparation of subsidiary GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for review and approval
• Perform general ledger analysis and assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Research account variances and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with statutory financial reporting and documentation requests
• Support internal and external audit activities by gathering schedules and supporting information
• Assist in maintaining accounting records and ensuring data accuracy
• Participate in special projects related to process improvement, documentation, and financial analysis
• Organize and maintain electronic accounting workpapers and supporting documentation
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned
