Accounting Intern

Enact Mortgage Insurance is seeking an Accounting Intern to participate in a 12-week internship supporting its Accounting team. The intern will rotate between accounting teams, assist with financial reporting and compliance activities, and complete projects involving reconciliations, data analysis, testing, documentation, and research.

What you'll do:

• Assist with month-end close activities, SOX control testing, reconciliations, and ad hoc projects that support financial reporting and compliance objectives
• Support financial reporting, accounting, and compliance processes through data analysis, documentation, testing, and research activities related to GAAP, SOX, SEC, and statutory reporting requirements
• Gain exposure to accounting, regulatory, and compliance requirements within a highly regulated industry
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop a broad understanding of the finance and mortgage insurance industry. ​

• Rising Senior or Graduate student pursuing an Accounting degree, in the process or with plans to pursue a CPA license after graduation
• Strong foundation in accounting principles with an understanding of GAAP concepts
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced professional environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
