Accounting Intern

HF Sinclair is an energy company that produces and markets refined fuels, renewable diesel, lubricants, and specialty products. The company is seeking a Summer 2027 Accounting Intern to assist accountants with routine accounting assignments, financial analysis, reporting, file maintenance, invoicing, volume tracking, and accounting entries under close supervision.

What you'll do:

• Prepares various accounting statements and reports
• Reviews, updates, and maintains files daily/monthly
• Performs accounting and financial analysis
• Processes credit card file reports
• Invoice marketers
• Measures volumes and track actual vs. scheduled volumes by site
• Make accounting entries
• Track and enter all master file additions, changes, de-branding
• Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

What they're looking for:

• Some completed courses needed for a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in accounting or finance are required
• Able to perform some basic accounting analysis and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft products, Entry-level understanding of accounting practices and procedures
• Intermediate reading and writing skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication
• Job conditions require sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 5lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 5lbs, climbing up to 2ft, perceiving color differences
• Job conditions may require standing and walking
• Experience with accounting and maintenance software, and experience in revenue accounting is preferred
