Accounting Intern

M/I Homes is a national homebuilder seeking an Accounting Intern to gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting. The role supports daily accounting operations, financial reporting, account reconciliations, accounts payable processing, and special projects while working with accounting professionals.

What you'll do:

• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Assist with accounts payable
• Process and analyze financial reports
• Record routine journal entries
• Assist with budget upload into system
• Assist with audit and compliance-related projects as assigned
• Assist the Accounting team with various administrative and accounting tasks as needed

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Aptitude for learning new software programs and other applicable technology
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and willingness to learn
• Office environment (full-time or part-time in person, remote not available)
