Accounting Intern

The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company. The Accounting Intern will support controllership functions through financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial data analysis, and special projects while developing technical accounting and analytical skills.

What you'll do:

• Assist with a variety of accounting and financial reporting activities, including:
• Daily and weekly reporting
• Monthly account reconciliations
• Journal entry preparation and processing
• Financial data analysis and ad hoc reporting
• Partner with accounting team members to support ongoing business and financial initiatives
• Analyze financial data and help identify trends, discrepancies, or opportunities for process improvement
• Participate in special projects that provide exposure to different areas of accounting and finance

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a nationally accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting
• Must have successfully completed at least one Intermediate Accounting course
• Junior standing or higher
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new systems and tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
