Accounting Intern

Stephens is an investment banking firm seeking a Summer Accounting Intern to support its Corporate Accounting team. The intern will assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, closing processes, regulatory research, investment-related accounting, and special projects.

What you'll do:

• Assist in preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports for the corporate accounting department
• Support month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Participate in financial statement analysis and variance reporting
• Work with investment-related accounting data, including portfolio valuation and fund accounting processes
• Conduct research on accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices as needed
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned
• Special projects as needed

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software
• Basic understanding of financial statements, GAAP, and accounting principles
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in the investment banking and financial services industry
