Accounting Intern

Winsupply is a wholesale distribution organization that supports locally owned companies through finance, accounting, IT, and other back-office operations. The Financial Accounting Intern will support monthly and annual financial reporting, general ledger management, financial analysis, financial statement preparation, audits, reconciliations, and other accounting projects while working with local company Presidents, management, and Finance and Accounting teams.

What you'll do:

• Act as controller and/or CPA for individual companies, providing guidance on financial matters
• Assist with the quarterly dividend process, advising on appropriate dividend payments and providing data and analytics to support recommendations
• Collaborate with local operations and corporate teams to build strong partnerships that contribute to company success
• Support the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for 70-110 companies within 2 business days
• Prepare and analyze complex financial statements for 80-120 companies
• Partner with local company Presidents and Winsupply management to review financial performance
• Analyze financial data to produce accurate monthly local company financial statements
• Assist with corporate accounting and related projects
• May be involved in acquisition accounting for Non-Wise Companies
• Coordinate with outside auditors on accounting projects and related topics
• Prepare and maintain year-end audit work papers and assist in audit activities
• Ensure OnBase GL account reconciliations are completed and updated monthly

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in University/College. Either Undergrad or Masters
• One semester post-graduation
• Grade level junior or higher
