Accounting Intern (Part time) - Baton Rouge, LA

DSLD Homes is looking for an Accounting Intern to assist with various accounting tasks and projects. The intern will participate in general ledger processes, month-end close, and learn daily accounting functions under the direction of the Controller.

What you'll do:

• Provide support to the team on daily, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks
• Take on special projects and execute them within the required timeframe
• Support Accounts Payable processes through daily invoice collection, scanning and data entry
• Assist with collection, tracking and payment of property tax bills
• General accounting work – journal entries, reconciliations, etc

What they're looking for:

• Accounting Major with minimum of three accounting classes completed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
• Availability to work 15-20 hours per week
• Natural curiosity and desire to develop professionally
• Residency in one of the following states is a requirement for the position: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Texas
