Accounting Internship - Summer 2027 (1893)

Avflight is seeking an Accounting Intern for a seasonal, full-time summer position in its accounting department. The role provides hands-on exposure to general accounting functions, including billing, credit, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, invoicing, financial analysis, and special projects.

What you'll do:

• Learn about Journal entries with proper supporting detail and support General Ledger Maintenance
• Learn about monthly close, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets providing assistance where necessary
• Learn actual to budget variance analysis and Financial Statements
• Support to reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
• Create customer invoices and exposure to varied billing arrangements
• Assist with research, correcting billing, inventory, and tax discrepancies
• Cash application and batch reconciliation
• Data entry utilizing Excel and Accounting software
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Effectively communicate with operational team and management
• Other duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Familiarity with GAAP accounting rules, standards, and procedures a plus
• Prior Internship experience or related past employment a plus but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal Skills with a positive attitude
• Strong organization Skills
• Works well in a team environment and as an individual
• Microsoft Office Proficient (Excel, Word, Outlook), knowledge of accounting software a plus
• Ability to work prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail is a must
• Completion of Junior year at an accredited university in pursuit of a Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Business or related field
• GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale)
